Welcome
Mission
The Question Why (?Y) Youth Empowerment Centers encourage the empowerment of youth as leaders in building tobacco-free schools, smoke-free communities, and promoting healthy lifestyles. Question Why offers a series of train-the-trainer programs for youth leaders and quarterly workshops for adult leaders, along with technical assistance and resources on youth tobacco use prevention and policy initiatives.
History
Question Why is a statewide education, advocacy and training movement. Question Why began in January of 2001, with funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the vision of committed adults from the NC Tobacco Prevention and Control Branch and local agencies. Once the initial concept was on paper and three regional directors were hired, THE REAL FUN BEGAN!
Now, Question Why is funded by the North Carolina Health and Wellness Trust Fund.
