Youth Advocacy Certificate
TRU YOUTH ADVOCATE CERTIFICATE
Across the state of NC, the TRU Youth Advocate Certificate Program raises awareness of the TRU movement, encourages youth participation at TRU trainings and events, promotes service hours and advocacy work, and increases TRU recruitment.
In order to be eligible to apply for a TRU Youth Advocate Certificate…
Be TRU:
Complete 4 of the following trainings:
-TRU Tobacco 101
-TRU Smokeless & Emerging Tobacco Products
-TRU Skills
-TRU Media Literacy
-TRU Merchant Education
-TRU Youth Advocacy
-Other related trainings
Live TRU:
-Conduct at least one TRU advocacy presentation, activity, and /or event in community or school -Receive an assessment of the TRU presentation, activity, and/or event by an adult -Complete at least one follow-up activity to the original presentation, activity, and/or event
Stay TRU:
Perform at least 10 hours of TRU service.
